Dr. Ganiyat: NMA President Commends Nigerian Doctors for Solidarity and Resilience

The President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Bala Audu, has expressed immense joy over the safe release of Dr. Ganiyat Popoola, who endured more than 10 months in captivity. In a communication release addressed to members and signed by Dr. Mannir Bature, the National Publicity Secretary of the NMA, Dr. Audu expressed his deepest gratitude to Nigerian doctors for their unshakable solidarity, resilience, and devotion throughout this difficult period. He praised their collective strength and determination in advocating for Dr. Ganiyat’s release.

Furthermore, Dr. Audu acknowledged the efforts of the security agencies and other key stakeholders who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure this positive outcome. He called on all relevant authorities to intensify efforts to secure the release of other doctors still in captivity.

He therefore assured that the NMA would provide all necessary support for Dr. Ganiyat’s rehabilitation and reintegration. He concluded by offering prayers for the continued safety and protection of all NMA members and their families.
