CMD vows to improve staff  welfare in Enugu

The Chief Medical Director (CMD),  Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Bertrand Ngwu, has promised to significantly improve the welfare of the staff of the hospital. Ngwu made the promise in Enugu on Friday during the inauguration of the senior staff association of the hospital.

He applauded the initiators, saying that workers could achieve much of their desired goals through their associations. He said he has been  a member of such an  association and would be a registered member of the inaugurated association

Ngwu appealed  to the staff to always put in their best at work. He said ”when you put in your best in doing your jobs, you would not regret joining this association.”

The Chairman of the association, Mr. Emmanuel Ojobo, acknowledged the sacrifices of former senior staff of the association, saying that they fought tirelessly for respect for workers’ rights and dignity.

Ojobo  added that the association was founded on solidarity, justice and equity.

He said that the association would promote the welfare and interest of its members.

He  commended the management of the hospital for support and cooperation.

The chairman said that the global workspace was evolving rapidly, making workers to face unexpected threats to wages and benefits.

He  gave the assurance that the seven-member executive of the association would lead the union with courage and integrity.

Ojobo appealed to members of the association to be committed and united.
